READING UNDER THE INFLUENCE is the hot new comedy from award-winning playwright Tony Glazer.

The wine hits the fan as some real housewives of the Westchester’s Book Club gather to discuss their current required reading, The Homeless Dogs of Egypt. During their chardonnay fueled discussion, find out that the rights to their book club have been sold to a reality TV production company. It’s “Oprah” meets the “Jersey Shore.” Don't judge a book club by its cover, you never know how the pages will turn.

Reading Under the Influence had a world premiere that began April 6th 2011 at the DR2 Theatre in NYC's Union Square, under the direction of Tony Award Winning Director, Wendy C. Goldberg. After an extended run at the DR2, Reading had a regional premiere on Nov 19th, 2011, and more performance dates are being announced soon.

Original Cast: Barbara Walsh, Joanna Bayless, Summer Crockett Moore, Ashley Austin Morris, Maria-Christina Oliveras, and Jeremy Webb. Also featuring: Harris Doran, Julie Leedes and Pat Patterson. Stage Managers: Meredith Dixon & Fran Rubenstein.
Set in a trailer park in South Florida, this new dark comedy, American Stare, mines the visceral anger of the disenfranchised white lower class. Following the spiraling lives of three sets of people; a widowed woman and her pit-bull, a disabled and accused child-predator, and a couple and their teenage daughter, we are challenged to see the world through their eyes -- a world led by a broken moral compass and tainted with the pervasiveness of special interests. In the end, we learn the true meaning of community.
